When should I start planning for retirement?

The earlier in age you start funding your policy, the more time you allow the policy to earn interest towards the age you are looking to retire.

You might be looking for an exact age to start retirement planning. The great thing is - there isn't one! We all have different obstacles and goals in life which sometimes delays opportunities for us to have excess cash to set aside for future planning. You can start a policy immediately after college, or getting your first real paying job, and could essentially fund it for a low premium and have a great tax-free income in place down the road.

However, you also might be someone who became a business owner or never thought too much into retirement until later in life due to other obligations. It still isn't too late for you! You can still have a great tax-free retirement income set up, but you might have to fund it more than someone who started earlier in life.
